Choreographer and dancer Anne-Mareike Hess accepted La Glaneuse’s Carte blanche to take us into the intimacy of her work, focused on the “emotional body”. She reports about her second period of residency in the cultural center Neimënster in Luxembourg, in the post-lockdown context.

C’est une première au Luxembourg et, par chance, elle a pu être pratiquement menée jusqu’à son terme. Avant le confinement, la compagnie Corps In Situ, de Jennifer Gohier et Grégory Beaumont, a été accueillie en résidence au Lycée Vauban. L’expérience a permis à des élèves de s’initier à la danse contemporaine et d’être associés à un processus de création.

Alors que le Flamenco Festival Esch n’a pas lieu cette année, La Glaneuse propose de prendre le temps de la réflexion en ouvrant ses colonnes à Fernando López. Ce danseur et chercheur vient de publier une thèse de doctorat au Département de danse de l’Université Paris VIII sur les espaces «marginaux» du flamenco.

Behind the spotlights of a stage, the work of a choreographer is patiently built up every day. What does it consist of ? Is this life as an artist as brilliant as it seems ? Choreographer and dancer Anne-Mareike Hess accepted La Glaneuse’s Carte blanche to take us into the intimacy of her work, focused on the « emotional body”. For three years, she will be an associated artist at the Cultural Exchange Center Neimenster in Luxembourg. She will report regularly from this adventure. In the first episode of this season 1, she tells us about her first period of residency, from 10 to 18 February 2020.

L’histoire de la scène luxembourgeoise de la danse contemporaine est intimement liée à celle du Centre de création chorégraphique du Luxembourg (Trois C-L), qui vient de fêter ses 25 ans. À cette occasion, la Glaneuse analyse le chemin parcouru mais aussi les perspectives de développement, alors que les nouvelles impulsions de la politique culturelle sont en train de rebattre les cartes.

720 danseurs avaient posé leur candidature. Seuls 10 ont été retenus. Parmi eux, la danseuse Rhiannon Morgan. Depuis le 9 novembre 2019, elle participe au projet « Premier(s) Pas » au sein de la compagnie La Baraka à Annonay (F). Il s’agit de neuf semaines de création et de cinq semaines de formation, avec à la clé la participation à un spectacle qui partira en tournée européenne. La Glaneuse a offert une Carte blanche à Rhiannon pour qu’elle partage, semaine après semaine, son expérience.
